Sam Hain has been repeatedly praised for his performance in a recent game against the Northants Steelbacks, despite his own team, the Birmingham Bears, losing by 64 runs. The match took place on Sunday, July 13th, at Edgbaston Stadium in the Vitality Blast North Group and did not end well for the Bears.
Things have been going well, however, for the Steelbacks. On Friday, the 11th July, they beat the Derbyshire Falcons by an impressive thirteen runs, and their peak performance continued over the weekend. So much so that, in their game against the Bears, they hit a club record of 240 for 6.
With this in mind, the Northants Steelbacks are one step closer to securing their place in the upcoming quarter-finals, and many sports bettors are turning their attention to the team’s success.
However, many UK-based punters find the online sportsbooks regulated by the UK Gambling Commission (the UKGC) are too restrictive, and instead have turned to casino sites and online sportsbooks not connected to GAMSTOP, meaning they do not fall under the jurisdiction of this authority. In doing so, they are not only able to place sporting bets with fewer restrictions, but they can also enjoy the wide range of casinos and sports betting options these offshore sites have and the impressive bonuses they provide that British-regulated sites simply cannot match.
Despite the loss the Birmingham Bears faced, at least one player could not be questioned for the skill and dedication he gave to the match. Sam Hain was the best performer out of his own team during this game, securing 50 scores from 29 balls.
Unfortunately, this was nowhere near enough to compete with the Northants Steelers, and three other players on their team outperformed even Hain. Matt Breetzke scored a commendable 85 from just 40 balls, and his teammates, Ricardo Vasconcelos and David Willey, scored 56 from 27 balls and 54 from 30 balls, respectively.
The Bears took the loss well, and Hain even went out of his way to compliment the opposite team, stating that the Steelers “played very well.” He also acknowledged that the Bears were forced to take risks, and that this time round, the risks did not work in their favour.
All hope is not lost for the Bears, however, as they currently sit 4th in the North group and have secured 7 wins from the 13 games they have played. In order for the quarter finals to become a reality, they will need to win in their upcoming match against the Derbyshire Falcons and hope that doing so will swing their net rate around enough to secure them a spot.
Things aren’t as up in the air for the Steelbacks, however, no matter what the final score is, if they win against their upcoming match against Durham on Friday they will be guaranteed a spot in the quarter-final.
